Yaygın yanılgı markalara pahalıya mal olur. Bir Dijital Ürün Pasaportu (DPP), “birkaç günde kurulabilecek bir QR kod ve web sayfası” gibi görünür. Değildir. Uyumlu bir DPP QR’ı; insanlara ve makinelere farklı yanıt veren bir çözümleyici (resolver), yaşam döngüsü aşamasına göre yönlendirme, ürünün gerçek olduğunu kanıtlama ve on yıl boyunca erişilebilir kalma gerektirir. GS1 bunu barındırmaz. Devlet bunu barındırmaz. Marka bunu ya kendisi kurar — on yıl boyunca 3–5 tedarikçiyle — ya da bunu zaten yapan tek bir motoru kullanır. O motor DSR’dir.

- “Bu bir QR kod + açılış sayfası — ekibimiz birkaç günde yapar.”
- QR, işin kolay %5’idir. Zor olan %95; arkasındaki çözümleyici, yaşam döngüsü, kimlik doğrulama ve on yıllık barındırmadır.
- Hiç güncellenmeyen, makine görünümü olmayan ve tedarikçi kapanırsa kaybolan durağan bir sayfa uyumlu bir DPP değildir.

The misconception costs brands dearly. A Digital Product Passport looks like “a QR code and a web page you could build in a few days.” It is not. A compliant DPP QR needs a resolver that answers people and machines differently, routes by lifecycle stage, proves the item is genuine, and stays live for ten years. GS1 does not host this. Governments do not host this. A brand must build it — across 3–5 vendors for a decade — or use one engine that already does. That engine is DSR.

The misconception
- “It’s a QR code + a landing page — our team can knock it up in a few days.”
- The QR is the easy 5%. The hard 95% is the resolver, lifecycle, authentication and a decade of hosting behind it.
- A static page that never updates, has no machine view and disappears if the vendor folds is not a compliant DPP.
What a compliant DPP QR actually needs
- A resolver doing HTTP content negotiation — an HTML page for people, JSON-LD for regulators, recyclers & customs.
- GS1 Digital Link syntax with batch/serial parsing and multi-audience routing.
- Anti-counterfeit (item-level), lifecycle state, and 10-year availability with an independent back-up (ESPR Art. 10(4)).
GS1 doesn’t host it. Governments don’t host it.
- GS1 gives you the number (GTIN), the standard and a basic global resolver — not your product’s consumer experience, lifecycle or anti-counterfeit.
- The EU DPP registry only indexes identifiers; the passport itself is decentralised — it lives with you or a platform.
- So the resolver + engine is your responsibility. That is the gap.
Do-it-yourself = 3–5 vendors, 10+ years
- Resolver dev + landing pages + lifecycle routing + anti-counterfeit + DPP hosting.
